Chopit Express is a proudly Kenyan fast food chain, born out of passion and innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Founded by two entrepreneurial sisters, Chopit began as an Instagram page dedicated to homemade recipes. What started as a simple platform quickly turned into a booming business when they began selling mishkaki cones from home. The cones were so popular that they consistently sold out, sparking the idea to take their culinary creations to a larger audience.

In Ramadan 2020, the sisters took a bold step by launching a Chopnut Sundae pop-up stand. For 15 straight days, the stand sold out, drawing so many customers that it caused traffic jams in the neighborhood. The massive success of the pop-up solidified their decision to expand, and in 2021, Chopit Express opened its first branch in Nyali, Mombasa.

As the business grew, so did its menu. The mishkaki cones evolved into the Shake Shaki—a poke bowl filled with spiced beef, chicken, or paneer, combined with salad and fries, and shaken to perfection to blend all the rich flavors. The innovative Shake Shaki quickly became a customer favorite, alongside the beloved Chopnut Sundae.

Since the opening of the first branch, Chopit Express has expanded rapidly, with locations in Makadara (2022), Gigiri (2023), Lavington (2023), and Westlands (2024). Today, it stands as the fastest-growing 100% Kenyan quick-service restaurant (QSR) franchise, known for its vibrant atmosphere, bold flavors, and commitment to providing fresh, high-quality meals.

Chopit Express celebrates Kenyan ingenuity and a deep love for food. Our menu is designed to deliver flavorful, affordable meals, from our signature Shake Shaki bowls to our indulgent Chopnut Sundae. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing a quick bite, Chopit Express promises fast, friendly service with every order. What began as a humble home business has grown into a thriving brand, reflecting the energy and spirit of Kenya.
